Finally

It is independence day here in Mexico and I thought it would be fun to come downtown and see how the locals celebrate. So I jumped on my bike and headed out. It poured rain on me the whole way here. As I sit here on the Malecon, drenched from head to toe, I decided to enjoy what was going on around me and try and dry out.

So what is the finally all about?

It took me a moment to realize that I have always wanted to experience the incredible rainfalls we have here in our quaint little coastal town. Granted, I wanted to walk the beach in the rain with my partner, holding hands and just being in the moment. Sharing the experience with her was all I could think about. So, I had to settle for a wonderful ride in the pouring rain by myself.

I have enjoyed getting in touch with myself, getting to learn about myself and have some time to focus on me. Riding in the rain was beautiful and I was able to be fully aware and present in the moment.

Do I still want to walk with her on the beach in the rain, ABSOFUCKINLUTELY. And one day soon, I hope that's an option. For now, I will be happy to have this experience with someone else that I love... Me!

Finally... I'm present. Finally... I'm feeling self-love. Finally... I'm able to just be, without expectation or agenda.

The people celebrating their independence day are beautiful, full of life and pride. The colors are gorgeous and the love they have for each other and their country is something to behold.

I will spend some time enjoying them and their beautiful energy.

Who knows, maybe I'll meet some incredible people and make new connections.

Hopefully dry out a bit too.
